Yesterday I ate a quick lunch (between doing physics problems and going to a physics practical) whilst listening to a theology student discussing political philosophy (or possibly the history of said topic). It reminded me of the sort of discussion I had with a couple of friends from home (who are both doing PPE despite having an aptitude for physics), although having not read any political philosophy books, or even had a decent discussion about it in a while, I felt a bit out of my depth. Studying science at Cambridge is making me loose touch with my interest in the arts subjects (and similarly I doubt my PPE friends could still have long physics discussions with me). Although, as I said, neither of the discussors studied politics, philosophy or history. Well, that's Cambridge for you. I was missing a CompSci lecture at the time.
My physics practical today was meant to be a short easy one. No one finished early. Never believe anything you read at Cambridge.
The Pembroke May Ball had its Launch last night. They were giving away free alcohol. Coincidentally, a lot of people attended. I think I got drunk. Again. I went to bed vaguely early. Still felt tired this morning and fell asleep in my 9am Maths. Again. The theme for the May Ball is champagne. A bit boring, I feel, but who cares? Champagne! If there isn't a champagne fountain I will demand a refund. £95 is a lot of money.
I missed my chocolate fix this morning - I forgot that it was Saturday, and the Chemistry Sandwhich Man wasn't in.
I ate lunch in the ADC clubroom today. It was the first time I had sat in there for any significant period and not been complete confused by bizarre conversations. I attribute this to the presence of actors rather than techies. They spoke about the perfect actor height (which in my opinion is 5'8") and the importance of breakfast. I never get up in time for breakfast, but brunch is good. There was one lampie around, trying to bodge a model aircraft remote control to turn lamps on. Incidentally, model aircraft controllers operate at the same frequency as taxi radios.
